running alongside these sessions will be our judges and referees course hosted by Sensei Frank Veselovsky. Topics covered on these sessions will include Referees, Judges, Trainee officials, Recorder/Timekeepers. this will be a good opportunity for any Shōtōkan Connect members who wish to take their Karate career into a new direction

Please note that those wishing to attend the Referees & Judges Seminars, this is run at the same time as the kata and kumite sessions, so attendees can't attend both. you will need to wear official uniform as set out in the Shōtōkan Connect Tournament Rules. This is comprised of:
- A navy-blue blazer (where possible)
- A Shōtōkan Connect badge (if available)
- A white shirt
- A Shōtōkan Connect tie (if available)
- Grey trousers
- Black socks covering 2/3rd of the shin
- Black, soft (thin, low tread) sole shoes
As part of our efforts to maintain the quality and cleanliness of our tatami, we kindly request that all Referees & Judges course attendees wear black, soft (think, low tread) sole shoes. Please note that these shoes are to be worn exclusively indoors and should never be worn outdoors. This is essential to prevent any potential damage to the tatami surface. Alternatively you may go barefoot whilst on the tatami.
Please note that the Referees & Judges Seminar portion of this event does not count towards the three course requirement for Karateka that have joined from another association and are looking to ratify their 3rd DAN or above grading qualification.
